Job Summary:This position is responsible for the management of major facilities projects supporting maintenance, repair, renovation, improvement, and new construction across the state. Duties include: collecting facilities needs from stakeholders, development of “scopes of work”/project development schedules, selection and retention of consultants, executing reviews of construction documents for quality and content, construction administration including review of schedules, submittals, change orders, pay applications, etc., monitoring job site safety, monitoring construction quality, project close out, and warranty period oversight. Additionally, this position manages project budgets and expenditures, establishes probable cost estimates, develops and submits budget requests and budget execution timelines, requests purchase orders, and reviews pay applications. The Project Manager actively partners with Facilities leadership, architects, designers, project managers, and other Department staff. This position participates in and assists with procurement actions including advertisement for services, proposal reviews, and selection of construction contractors. Monitors all disciplines of construction trades. This position occasionally requires work outside of normal business hours and requires occasional travel throughout the state of Arizona.
Job Duties:Simultaneously manage multiple statewide major maintenance, repair, renovation, improvement, and new construction projects within all construction project phases. Manage project budgets, consultant/contractor performances, safety compliances, quality, pay applications, and resolve disputes.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends, building codes, and construction best practices and apply to daily working processes. Manage the award and execution of development and construction contracts through various procurement processes and provide coordination with utilities, authorities, and others as required.
Liaise, coordinate, and manage expectations with stakeholders, Facilities Management staff, Procurement staff, and consultants/contractors to develop comprehensive project scopes, budgets, and development schedules for a variety of maintenance, repair, renovation, improvement, and new construction projects.
Manage project documentations supporting a variety of required meetings, correspondences, budgets, contracts, schedules, change orders, pay applications, invoices, reports, etc., to ensure project objectives and statuses are clearly communicated and achieved.

Knowledge:
* Thorough understanding of building systems (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, information technologies, civil, etc.) and vertical construction means and methods
* In depth understanding of construction trades and their responsibilities
* Thorough understanding of construction materials, detailing, and finishes
* Detailed knowledge of developing probable construction costs
* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of construction project management
* Knowledge of construction documents and the application of standard construction practices
Skill:
* Strong professional writing and oral communication skills
* Proficient in analyzing and interpreting technical data including building plans, specifications, site plans, reports, and observations
* Proficient in identifying substandard and non-compliant workmanship, installations, and materials
* Adept navigation of computer networks, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite, and the use of typical office equipment (copiers, printers, plotters, etc.)
* Excellent customer service and maintain professional and respectful demeanor in all interaction with coworkers, customers, and vendors
* Proficiency with managing and interfacing with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors in all phases of construction work
