Senior Planner

We have an immediate need in the Owings Mill, MD area for a Senior Planner in our Transportation & Infrastructure division. The successful candidate will serve a key role in STV’s growing planning, engineering, and construction practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven transportation planner to become part of a dynamic team of multidisciplinary transportation professionals. Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in and managing a range of complex transportation projects including transit, roadway/highway, and metropolitan and municipal projects. More specifically:

• Successfully deliver transportation studies, feasibility studies, planning environmental linkages (PEL) studies, alternatives analysis, NEPA environmental impact statements and assessments and related regulatory technical reports
• Work with transportation agencies including federal, state and local authorities.
• Perform and manage diverse and complex discipline work tasks requiring extensive planning, communication, and management skills
• Coordination with other office directors/leaders to ensure a consistent level of technical standards and applications on projects
• Land use planning, multi-modal transportation planning, corridor planning and all other duties as assigned
• Preparing project mapping and required documents
• Assist with preparation of technical proposals

Specific Requirements:

Applicant must possess the following.

• A minimum of seven (15) years of experience in transportation planning or a closely related field, with professional experience in private-sector consulting
• Direct experience in successfully delivering transportation studies, feasibility studies, alternatives analysis, environmental impact statements and assessments and related projects.
• Experience working with transportation agencies including federal, state and local authorities.
• Bachelors or Master’s in Science degree in environmental, planning, engineering, or related curriculum. Masters preferred.
• AICP or PE professional certification
• Previous experience working with MDOT, municipal, or transit clients in Maryland
• Skilled in technical report writing and communicating with clients, including presenting to clients
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• GIS experience
• Asset management experience

Compensation Range:

$89,543.00 - $119,390.00
