Position Description 

  

The Manager of Refereeing Operations will lead refereeing operational initiatives and workstreams in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Operations, ensuring seamless communication and coordination on behalf of the Refereeing Department. This role involves building strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders to support and enhance the department's initiatives. Committed to achieving operational excellence, the Manager will uphold and exemplify a best-in-class standard for both individual performance and team success.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Refereeing Operations to lead operational team members, aligning efforts with the strategic vision of the Refereeing Department
  • Supervise Refereeing Coordinators, overseeing daily operations while providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to foster growth
  • Manage the planning, registration, and execution of annual licensing course initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective delivery
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with state leadership teams, leagues, and members on behalf of the Refereeing Department
  • Manage the organization and execution of Refereeing Department events, including multiple national camps, from initial planning to execution
  • Develop and maintain reporting and analytics systems to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Referee Program growth and development
  • Draft, implement, and manage policy and procedures related to Refereeing Operations key initiatives
  • Establish and maintain a consistent, standardized approach for all external communications, ensuring clarity and professionalism
  • Serve as a point of escalation for the centralized customer service team to resolve complex or high-priority issues related to the Referee Program
  • Support the Refereeing Education and Development team in continuing education and content creation from an operational stand point
  • Assist in the creation and administration of the Refereeing Department budget, invoices, and expenses
  • Support short term and long term objectives to grow the Referee Program
  • Create and maintain positive working relationships with all 55 State Referee Committees and other affiliated members

Requirements


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business operations, strategy, management consulting, or related field
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experienced with Payment Processing Tools, CRM Platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook) Slack, and Zoom
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
  • Experience managing and organizing events
  • General knowledge of soccer
