Position Summary

As a key member of the Data Architecture & Integration team, the Director of Data Architecture & Integration will be responsible for strategically designing, developing, and implementing a data integration hub to facilitate seamless data exchange across various systems. This role involves creating dimensional data models for enterprise-level reporting systems at multiple layers, including conceptual, logical, business area, and reporting application.

The Director will lead a team of professionals, providing supervision, coaching, and mentorship. They will participate in unit administration, including planning, budgeting, policy development, and resource management. The role requires expertise in data warehousing, business intelligence, ETL processes, and data integration methodologies to ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity.

Additionally, the Director will manage and support all project-related activities, from architecture and design to development and deployment, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time. This position is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives that enhance data governance and utilization across the organization.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work an information technology area related to data architecture; experience in an enterprise-level ETL or ETL platform, such as Informatica DIH, Power Center, IBM Datastage, Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) etc.; experience working with complex, relational and dimensional databases; supervisory experience;  or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to data architecture.
  • 5+ year experience in an enterprise-level ETL or ETL platform, such as Informatica DIH, Power Center, IBM Datastage, Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) etc.
  • 7+ year hands on experience working with complex, relational and dimensional databases.
  • 5+ year work experience in Oracle SOA suite preferably 11g  (MUST BE HANDS ON working with data, designing dimensional databases ).
  • 4+ year work experience with Data Warehousing data population techniques for target structures such as Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and highly normalized data models.
  • Highly developed knowledge of a Data Warehouse design principles with dimensional data modeling for a specific Business Intelligence tools including the handling of history, support for slowly changing dimensions and techniques for addressing performance issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of PL/SQL with experience in constructing the triggers, tables, collections, functions, user defined data type, procedures and packages in Oracle database etc.
  • Knowledge in Performance tuning, Database monitoring and Capacity Planning, SQL Tuning using optimization (Analyze, Explain Plan), Snapshots, Data Archiving, Hints, Table Partitioning and Indexes.
  • Two to three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Unix (AIX) shell scripting.
  • Experience in Data migration projects.
  • Experience in database administration and analyzing impact of data structure changes.
  • Performance optimization and management
