What you’ll do
- Drive project activities to ensure best performance for Quality KPI’s, such as warranty, customer satisfaction scores, and internal audits.
- Participation and active management of technical Quality topics in cross functional system teams regarding interior components
- Evaluation of project change requests for cost, quality and timing.
- Support development of engineering solutions and launch issues while protecting full volume manufacturability.
- Evaluation of early project requests for impact to Quality Assurance to ensure a flawless launch at Scout.
- Keeping an ongoing list of project strengths and weaknesses for future improvement following up on outcome resolution
- Support Scout’s definition of quality and process requirements as the Voice of the Customer
- Technical understanding of current vehicle status to drive design for manufacturability and repairability.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 5+ years of experience in relevant experience engineering experience in manufacturing, quality or a manufacturing-related industry / OEM experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field desired
- Understanding of product development and engineering requirements
- Extensive knowledge and experience with automotive systems and part design
- Excellent problem-solver with a strong quality and customer-focused mindset
- Experience in high- volume quality manufacturing engineering a plus
- 2+ years of manufacturing plant launch experience
- Experience in Supplier Quality and all aspects of APQP, Control plans, FMEA, and PPAP
- Extensive experience and technical understanding from either in the OEM/ Supply chain in this specialized area of vehicle interiors, specifically instrument panels, center console, hard trim, and door panels
- Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and writing – across hierarchy and functional levels (i.e. Director and Vice President Level)
- Ability to identify tasks, develop methodologies and plans, and execute with minimal supervision and own assignments to ensure the project success
- Strong understanding of quality systems and processes
- Strong leadership skills, able to effectively interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to handle multiple assignments with competing priorities
