Acentra seeks a Medicaid Pharmacy Specialist (Hybrid - Mobile, Alabama area) to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
Our Medicaid Pharmacy Specialist will:
- Educate providers on the utilization of medication in a cost-effective way based on criteria developed by Alabama Medicaid.
- Discuss prescribing and dispensing patterns.
- Answer questions and provide information.
- Establish a good working relationship with providers.
** This position is Hybrid, traveling to healthcare professionals within the Mobile, Alabama, area and working from home. **
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide outreach education to healthcare professionals within the Mobile, Alabama, region.
- Educate prescribers on appropriate and cost-effective utilization of medications.
- Educate providers (prescribers and pharmacies) on Alabama Medicaid Pharmacy ALERTs and other Medicaid topics.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Alabama Medicaid prescribing patterns.
- Provide instruction on the proper use of Alabama Medicaid Prior Authorization (PA) request forms and Pharmacy Override forms.
- Provide Physician Summary Report and review with prescribers.
- Complete outcome reports from each provider visit.
- Efficiently respond to provider requests outside of scheduled visits.
- Attend team quarterly meetings/training.
Requirements
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree.
- Must reside in the Mobile, Alabama, area.
- Ability to travel frequently to meet with healthcare professionals in the Mobile, Alabama, area.
- A clean, valid driver’s license to travel within the Mobile, Alabama, area.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Previous customer service or sales experience.
- Knowledge of current medications and their relevant drug classifications through Alabama Medicaid.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to make presentations and speak persuasively.
- Ability to work on multiple items and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $44,000-46,000 annually.
