About the role

As our Test & Evaluation Director in McKinney, TX, you will provide strategic leadership and guidance to our global Test & Evaluation team to support business unit objectives and/or customer requests. Your responsibilities include the advancement of processes and equipment in our global labs.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Review Global Test & Evaluation personnel and facilities to ensure required work for the business units are completed efficiently and thoroughly 
  • Lead of a core group of technical leaders 
  • Assist in defining project priorities and resources
  • Develop a strategic plan for working with the global Test and Evaluation locations to ensure we are technical leaders
  • Assist in recruiting and developing technical employees
  • Develop and implement plans for upgrades to global engineering labs to ensure Test and Evaluation facilities are state-of-the-art
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, carrying out rules and making decisions about the purchase of materials and services
  • Confer with management to discuss project specifications and procedures
  • Report results to management as required

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • High regard for safety in workplace and laboratory environments
  • BS Degree in Engineering
  • Superior mechanical aptitude and engineering skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Functional experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and gas pressure regulator standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence and effectively manage project teams
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25%) to support engineering staff development
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Extensive experience in product design, engineering, and research with managerial expertise
  •  Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, with relevant certifications
  • In-depth knowledge of pressure management devices and technologies
  • Prior experience at Emerson is a plus
