The Department of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology is seeking a Staff Research Associate to support the operations of the Preclinical Imaging Center. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining small animal imaging equipment (PET, CT, optical scanners), managing lab inventory and cleanliness, and assisting with protocol updates and regulatory compliance. The role requires hands-on mouse handling, including injections, tissue collection, and tumor inoculation, as well as proficiency in molecular and biochemical techniques such as PCR, western blotting, cloning, cell culture, and flow cytometry.
Hourly range: $28.88-$46.46

Required:
- Basic understanding of biology and animal physiology;
- Basic understanding of molecular imaging research;
- Command of written English language is required to create or update amendments and renewals of animal and other operational protocols; Ability to create and maintain records accurately;
- Organized, accurate, and detail oriented schedules and records, performed in a timely manner;
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, post docs, graduate and undergraduate student about techniques and protocols; Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines;
- Experience in molecular and biochemical standard methods and cell culture;Ability to learn flow cytometry if skill not already existing;
- Ability to learn pre-clinical imaging systems;
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot conflicts, etc;
- Skilled at writing reports and working with spreadsheets, databases, and email;
- Ability to follow directions and to both work independently and to work well with a team when needed;
- Ability to keep laboratory space clean, safe and organized, ability to order and maintain imaging and ancillary equipment;
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, including dose carriers, and exchange gas tanks;
- Ability to use or learn imaging software for data analysis;
