Who are we looking for?

Our US Southeast region is looking for a Major Events Leader to develop and implement a roadmap for GHD to assist our key clients in delivering successful Major Events programs.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

• Working with Market Leaders (MLs) and Service Line Leaders (SLLs) Nationally and Globally to identify current capability in delivery of projects for major events and formulate a strategy to go to market for these services
• Determining where we need to increase capability to meet emerging opportunities specific to Major Events and work with Business Group Leaders (BGLs) and Operations Managers (Oms) on resourcing requirements
• Working with MLs to identify longer-term large-scale opportunities that need specific pursuit plans 
• Active participation at industry functions, events and thought leadership sessions and contribute via multiple channels in raising GHD’s profile
• Working with Regional ML to determine which SQ and national key clients are likely to be the biggest revenue generators in the next decade and work with RMs to invest in relationships accordingly
• Building personal relationships with individuals in key client organizations that are tasked with delivering on their business’s Major Events opportunities
• Building new relationships with senior and C-Suite level representatives of emerging client entities that will form in the next 12 months (NBA, MLB, F1, Salesforce, NFL, FIFA, IOC, etc…) 
• Assisting MLs and RMs to deliver on strategic pursuit plans
• Organizing the US Major Events Steering Committee designed to leverage our in-house expertise into a strategy of where to invest our time and effort
• Manage the tasks and output of a small local par-time team, dedicated to assist in the communications, client interaction and intelligence gathering of major events
• Lead and execute consultant teaming and contractor agreements for key pursuits (where required) in accordance with GHD Limits of Authority 
• Financial management of Major Events sponsorship, marketing and thought leadership in a manner that maximizes long term return on investment for GHD

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree International Business, Finance or Marketing
• Over 20 years of experience in Transportation Management for Major Events globally including operations management and business development
• Willing and able to travel throughout the US and potentially globally as needed
