Sr. Facilities Engineer
Job Type: Full Time, Exempt
Who You Are:
You are an experienced and skilled Sr. Facilities Engineer with a strong background in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing chiller systems and HVAC equipment. You will be responsible for the reliable operation of HVAC Systems across multiple facilities. You thrive in a dynamic environment, are detail-oriented, and excel in diagnosing issues, performing installations, and providing exceptional customer support with a commitment to safety and compliance
What You’ll Do:
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair chiller systems and components, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and pumps.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to enhance system reliability and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Installation:
- Install new chiller systems, ensuring proper sizing, piping, and electrical connections.
- Collaborate with contractors and technicians to complete installations per specifications.
- Testing and Optimization:
- Test system performance, pressures, and temperatures to ensure proper operation.
- Adjust settings and controls to optimize system efficiency and meet building cooling requirements.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards and handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of refrigerant usage and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and industry standards.
- Customer Support:
- Communicate effectively with facility managers, explain issues, and provide recommendations for preventive solutions.
- Offer technical guidance on system upgrades and energy efficiency improvements.
- Be available for on-call work, overtime, and emergency service requests as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in chiller and HVAC system maintenance, repair, and installation.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and system optimization techniques.
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling and compliance with safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear recommendations and guidance to clients.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel throughout the country 50% of the time.
Even Better If:
- You have a certification in advanced HVAC systems or chiller maintenance.
- You’re experienced with large-scale commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency solutions and system upgrades.
- Previous experience working in facilities requiring frequent travel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk talk or hear, use hands to finger or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. This position has no special vision requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires daily use of provided PPE, such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary. Requires the ability to work in confined spaces. Has exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms. Requires a high stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility. Ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
