About the role
Receivers are responsible for all functions and paperwork related to receiving. They will operate machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely utilize forklifts and power jacks to move warehouse materials according to proper safety instructions and as directed
- Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
- Stack goods in the correct storage bays
- Check loads are secure
- Stack empty pallets
- Count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders , bills of lading or other records
- Assemble cardboard or wooden containers or select pre-assembled containers
- Examine and unpack incoming shipments; record shortages and reject damaged items
- Operate lift truck or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage area
- Check in inbound inventory and administer the processing
- Trace and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Sort, count, identify, verify and track all material by utilizing the varies systems to maintain accurate inventory records
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good math, language and reading skills
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards is required
- 3-5 years' experience working in a warehouse environment
- Previous experience with material handling automation in a warehouse environment is a plus
- Flexibility to work shifts as assigned including nights and weekends
- Ability to work overtime as needed
