Standup Forklift Driver - Day Shift

About the role

Receivers are responsible for all functions and paperwork related to receiving. They will operate machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely utilize forklifts and power jacks to move warehouse materials according to proper safety instructions and as directed
  • Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
  • Stack goods in the correct storage bays
  • Check loads are secure
  • Stack empty pallets
  • Count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders , bills of lading or other records
  • Assemble cardboard or wooden containers or select pre-assembled containers
  • Examine and unpack incoming shipments; record shortages and reject damaged items
  • Operate lift truck or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage area
  • Check in inbound inventory and administer the processing
  • Trace and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
  • Sort, count, identify, verify and track all material by utilizing the varies systems to maintain accurate inventory records

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good math, language and reading skills
  • Forklift certification per OSHA standards is required
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Previous experience with material handling automation in a warehouse environment is a plus
  • Flexibility to work shifts as assigned including nights and weekends
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
