Your Specific Responsibilities:

The incumbent in this position provides customer service and accounting services for the daily deposit and posting of payments received by the Bureau of Public Health Laboratories. This position requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft word, excel and Access programs.

Post payments from remittance voucher payments received from Medicaid, MMA Plans, Third Party Liability (TPL) payers, and HMO Insurance companies. Download Explanation of Benefits (EOB)/Electronica Remittance Advice (ERA) 835 files from Change Healthcare, Availity, and Office Ally to automatically post payments in the HPlusPro Billing system daily.

Assist in consolidating, reviewing, and submitting Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) and Journal Transfer reconciliation to the Office of Budget and Revenue Management to ensure that proper revenue codes are used.

Provide customer service for the Bureau of Public Health Laboratories by promptly answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate office and employees and responding to client issues.

Supports the specimen drop-off area and aids the department in ensuring that workloads are met.

Performs other related duties as needed.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.

Knowledge of office procedures and practices. 

Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions. 

Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports. 

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively. 

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent. 

 

Preferred: College Degree, preferable bachelor's degree. 2 years of experience.
