Responsible for meeting budgeted volume goals for all real estate secured consumer products within the Bank's credit risk appetite. Responsible for market analysis and directing custom business development efforts for each of the sales regions. Direct oversight of the retail sales managers, online originators and liaison with all NBT Business Line partners. Responsible for identifying product needs or recommended enhancements with Management Team, Treasury, and Credit Risk. Coordinate with Marketing for the development of strategic campaigns to achieve sales goals. Supports all CRA related initiatives in conjunction with the Eastern Regions Sales Manager and NBT Bank CRA Officer.
Education and Experience:
- 10-15 years Management Experience in Mortgage Banking
- Underwriting Experience
- Business Development and Sales experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
- NMLS Certification Required
Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of Residential Loan products, State and Federal Regulations & Bank loan policy and procedures.
- Secondary Market Standards
- Proven business development skills
- Managing Personnel with proven ability to supervise sales staff
- Proven expertise in Mortgage Banking compliance, regulation and mortgage products. Experience with developing incentive plans for loan originators.
Tasks Performed:
Tasks Performed:
- 25% - Conducts regular market analysis with sales managers to identify competitors, marketing needs, business development opportunities and product gaps. Develop a plan and calendar of events and oversee the execution of such strategies, providing regular reporting to management.
- 25% - Responsible for the execution of campaigns and promotions to assist in meetings sales objectives. Works in collaboration with Retail Banking and Marketing to develop campaign objectives and tactics.
- 15% - Oversee the development of sales objectives and compensation packages for the loan origination staff. Oversee the training of originators in using new technology and workflows and hold team accountable for proper usage by establishing metrics and reporting.
- 15% - Responsible for the development of a robust central sales unit and managing the customer experience by identifying the needs in Retail Banking and Home Lending sales as well as making recommendations to Home Lending Operations for workflow and/or enhancements relative to an online delivery channel.
- 15% - Responsible for the oversight of the CRA and affordable housing originators, product, correspondent channels and associated compliance and other related reporting.
- 5% - Other duties as assigned.
