About the Role
Culmen International is looking for a Biological Data Computation Support Specialist to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.
The Biological Data Computation Support Specialist develops, maintains, and executes computational workflows to process and analyze complex datasets generated in biological research studies on threat agents.
What You’ll Do in Your New Role
- Support development of analysis pipelines for NGS and proteomics.
- Perform statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Maintain data integrity and security across platforms.
- Assist in data interpretation and result reporting.
- Document code, workflows, and SOPs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, statistics, or a biological science.
- 2+ years in bioinformatics, biostatistics, or data science.
- Programming skills in R, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with Linux environments and open-source bioinformatics tools.
- Familiarity with databases (SQL/MySQL).
- Ability to communicate scientific results effectively.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
