Job Description

The Sr. Director, Content & Programming plays a key role in developing and deploying Telemundo and Universo’s linear programming strategy roadmap. The Sr. Director, Content & Programming, reporting into the EVP of Programming & Content Development, also works closely with digital team on windowing of content across digital and streaming platforms

Job Duties:

  • Oversees Telemundo and Universo Rollout documents
  • Works closely with research team to design questionnaires for Focus Groups, Pulse and Primary research studies
  • Works with entertainment counterparts to ensure seamless collaboration, transparency, and content consistency across all entertainment content
  • Partners with cross-functional business teams to communicate and align strategy across departments and business units
  • Leads relationship with Telemundo Studios and third-party co-producers
  • Collaborates with Telemundo International to ensure programming synergy, sharing insights and scheduling best practices that lead to increased ratings
  • Drives continuous improvement by working with stakeholders to identify key business issues and develop recommendations
  • Helps prioritize the network’s business actions and strategic priorities
  • Uses data obtained from Insights team to strategize on scheduling and acquisition decisions
  • Provides direction to Acquisitions team on what new content to acquire for Universo
  • Collaborates with Finance to ensure the business can effectively execute programming strategies within budget
  • Prepares Kick-Off presentations to share with the Marketing team for upcoming premieres
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in unscripted programming for a Spanish language broadcast network, cable network, or television production company
  • Bachelor's degree in Film/TV production, Operations, Engineering, or related field
  • Operational experience in large scale media environment (Broadcast, TV, News and information, Live Entertainment); or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent writing and grammar
  • Full understanding of programming rights requirements
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Visio, MS Project and other related tools

  • Able to react to constant changes in priorities by reorganizing work to meet shifting deadlines and targets

Additional Requirements:

  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
