About the Team

The Styling Business Operations team owns the organization’s financial planning, develops and iterates on Styling headcount and work output planning models, and works cross-functionally to turn data into action. In your role, you will partner with senior leaders to support the effectiveness, scale, and profitability of our remote Styling organization of over 2000 stylists.

The Styling organization at Stitch Fix is at the center of our core business model, where humans and tech intersect. Our team of stylists work with Stitch Fix technology and algorithms to curate Fixes for our customers. Stylists are an integral part of our customer experience, data flywheel, and unique fulfillment model. 

As the Styling Business Operations Manager, you will be responsible for business planning, financial forecasting, and development / execution of optimization strategies. Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Styling Business Operations for Styling, the leader in this role will work closely with our Styling, Operations, Finance, and Data Science teams.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone with a strong analytical background who loves solving operational problems across a broad spectrum of disciplines, and can communicate complex data and recommendations to wide audiences, including executives.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Develop, iterate and manage Styling operational models that balance customer demand, Styling work output, and warehouse requirements
  • Lead critical strategic and operational projects that support our Styling organization, collaborating cross-functionally on a daily basis
  • Manage the Styling budget and forecasting process in collaboration with our Finance partners
  • Develop dashboards to synthesize key styling performance indicators in partnership with our Data Engineering team
  • Communicate trends, risks, and recommendations clearly to Styling Leadership, in order to adjust operational strategies real-time and enhance the effectiveness of the Styling organization
  • Serve as the voice of the Styling Field (the core of our business), to influence cross-functional partners and support Styling and overall company objectives
  • Manage and develop high-performing analytical individual(s)

  • You are a strategic, analytical thinker who takes a data-driven approach to complex business problems.
  • You are an expert at building models in Excel and are passionate about teaching others. A plus if you have experience supporting labor forecasting and budgeting.
  • You have deep experience with Business Intelligence tools, direct experience with SQL and Looker is a plus, or ability to quickly become proficient.
  • You are a strong and proven people leader. You thrive functioning as both a player and a coach: You have a proven track record of independently driving initiatives while directly and indirectly leading others.
  • You are a strong communicator, with the ability to distill complex problems to different audiences, including cross functional partners and executives.
  • You’re a self-motivated and proactive problem solver with a strong sense of ownership, you like to work in a fast-paced environment, and have great attention to detail.
  • You can see beyond the numbers and understand the impact on our organization, teams, individual Stylists, and Clients.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (MBA a plus) with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 2-3 in analytical consulting, finance / investment banking, operations, or similarly rigorous quantitative field.
  • You are willing to travel to HQ in San Francisco on a minimum quarterly basis. A plus if you permanently reside in the Bay Area.
