Job Purpose
As Dana pursues growth opportunities in the e-mobility marketplace, we are strengthening our Software/Hardware/Systems Development Quality Assurance process. Reporting to our Global Quality Team, SW/HW/Systems Quality Assurance will play a key role, interfacing with project teams and suppliers to ensure that important development projects are meeting Dana and Customer expectations for quality, safety, and process compliance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop deep understanding of Dana development concepts, practices, and tools.
- Ensure compliance to Global standards such as ASPICE and Dana’s One Dana Mechatronics Standard.
- Carry out software process conformance audits and work product reviews per CMMI, ASPICE, ISO26262, ISO21434 and other applicable industry and customer standards; reporting the audit results related to targets (functionality, time schedule, etc.) to senior leadership.
- Assume personal ownership in driving countermeasures identified through gaps in product performance, internal conformance audits, etc., including tracking the completion of actions.
- Support internal quality systems assessments and adherence to Dana and customer standards.
- Support Program Management and Product/Software/System/Hardware Engineering to incorporate Advanced Quality Planning quality goals and objectives into high-level program and project quality assurance plans.
- Control of project specific Quality actions according to an established Quality Plan. Identify and drive resolution of quality related findings to prevent impact to the external customer.
- Perform gap analysis, prioritize gaps, engage SME's, leaders, stakeholders, as necessary.
- Plan, participate, maintain data for software/hardware/system work product reviews per the Software Quality plan, including sampling and evaluation of work product quality.
- Support Supplier Development as Subject Matter Expert when considering new sources for SW/HW-involved product.
- Ensure that lessons learned are aggregated and analyzed and used to lead Process Improvement activities.
- Coaching Project Managers and software/hardware/systems engineering teams in all quality and development activities for ASPICE, FuSa and Cyber Security assessments and compliance with Dana and customer standards.
- As a member of Change Control Board, responsible for tracking and approval of the modification requests throughout Development phase using Change Management Tools such as JIRA.
- Lead Project team in structured Problem-Solving Methodology (FMEA, 8D etc.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent is required. Master's Degree or Professional Certifications desired.
- 3+ years professional experience in software/hardware/systems quality and engineering activity, and/or automotive electronic products/systems.
- Automotive program experience with global OEM and/or Tier 1 supplier is desired.
- Significant knowledge and expertise in IEEE software standards, SEI CMMI, ISO26262 and ASPICE standards. ASPICE assessor certification strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001:2015, VDA and other industry standards such as AIAG Core Tools, particularly APQP.
- Auditing / assessment experience with the above-mentioned standards, including “process-based auditing” at the system, project, and/or component level.
- Supplier Quality Assurance experience a significant plus.
- Knowledge of Agile and other development methodologies.
- Working experience with FMEA methodology and HARA/TARA as applied to software and integrated systems is preferred.
- Motivated and willing to accept responsibility, quite often outside of quality systems management, and leading across multiple functions and reporting relationships.
- Ability to think strategically and systematically, working towards Dana's long-term success, as well as short-term successes in programs, projects, and products.
