What are you going to do?

• Maintain and manage MongoDB collections and related data on MongoDB Atlas within the Azure cloud environment.
• Continuously monitor the health of MongoDB clusters, analyzing parameters such as CPU utilization, memory usage, operation execution times, replication lag, and data and query load balancing.
• Identify stress areas within the database and trace them back to the specific queries responsible, proactively profiling and suggesting improvements for these queries.
• Support the deployment of data elements, including collections and data, to the database after obtaining necessary approvals.
• Utilize your experience to upgrade and migrate MongoDB across different versions and platforms.
• Create advanced queries, query conditionals, and aggregation frameworks to enhance data retrieval.
• Actively participate in scalability testing to ensure a highly responsive and reliable database.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies as they pertain to MongoDB.
• Utilize MongoDB utilities such as mongostat, mongotop, mongoperf, mongodump, and mongorestore to maintain and optimize database performance.

What will help you succeed

• Proven expertise in MongoDB database administration, especially on MongoDB Atlas within the Azure cloud.
• Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing MongoDB clusters, and identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
• Experience in database upgrades and migrations across multiple versions and platforms.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with HA and DR strategies for MongoDB.
• Proficiency in MongoDB utilities like mongostat, mongotop, mongoperf, mongodump, and mongorestore.
• Strong scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with other cloud providers and database platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
