Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager - Water / Wastewater for a position in Raleigh, NC.  For this civil engineering role, you should have knowledge of and experience with municipal water/wastewater projects and engineering design, assessment, and rehabilitation work.  

The responsibilities of this include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Manages projects, including scoping, task management, invoicing, and final closeout
  • Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work of a major project, or several small-moderate scope projects.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff
  • Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services and will include activities focused on design of municipal water/wastewater projects
  • Communicates project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required
  • Makes technical presentations
  • Responsibilities may include overseeing the planning and design of various project elements, the preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverables
  • Overseeing construction phase engineering services
  • Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Professional Engineer license, in good standing, preferably in North Carolina or the ability to obtain via reciprocity
  • Relevant experience must include progressive experience as PE/PM in municipal water/wastewater work and engineering design, assessment, and rehabilitation projects
  • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully manage diverse teams
  • Demonstrated project management experience including delivering projects successfully, on time and on budget
  • A demonstrated proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully managing water and wastewater projects
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is desired
  • Masters degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
  • 8 years of progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater work including infrastructure engineering design, assessment, and rehabilitation projects preferred
  • Experience in managing and/or delivering projects by “alternative delivery” is a plus
  • Experience mentoring or supervising othe
