Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for Assistant General Counsel, Innovative Medicine Supply Chain to join our Global Legal Organization located in New Brunswick, NJ; Raritan, NJ; or Titusville, NJ.

The Assistant General Counsel for Innovative Medicine Supply Chain Legal will have primary responsibility for shaping, delivering, and overseeing legal support for IM Supply Chain activities related to advanced therapies and emerging modalities, with a particular focus on oncology programs, supply chain planning, and digitally enabled supply models. The role will advise on a broad range of complex, novel, and high-risk legal issues across the end-to-end lifecycle of advanced therapy supply chains, from early clinical development through commercial launch and global scale-up.

This position partners closely with IM Supply Chain leadership, Supply Chain Planning, regional demand and supply teams, IM SC Digital, Oncology R&D, Technical Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial stakeholders to enable resilient, compliant, and patient-centric supply. The role also leads and develops a high-performing global legal team and serves as a key legal thought leader for new modalities, planning, and digital transformation across IM Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Lead Attorney for advanced therapies and oncology-focused IM Supply Chain activities, providing strategic legal counsel to senior leaders and enabling reliable last-mile delivery for patient-critical products.
  • Provide dedicated legal support to the IM Supply Chain organization, including global and regional demand and supply planning teams, on capacity planning, allocation frameworks, launch readiness, resiliency, and shortage response.
  • Shape and lead legal support for the clinical supply chain team to ensure that it is fully integrated into our one end-end supply chain team.
  • Partner closely with procurement to support agile, ethical, and compliant decision-making aligned with global strategies and regulatory obligations.
  • Advise on and enable the IM Supply Chain digital strategy, including digital planning tools, advanced analytics, AI-enabled forecasting, track-and-trace solutions, and chain-of-identity and chain-of-custody systems.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage complex agreements supporting advanced therapies, including sourcing, manufacturing, testing, logistics, and digital technology partnerships.
  • Advise on global regulatory developments impacting advanced therapies, oncology, supply chain, planning models, data governance, cybersecurity, and trade controls.
  • Proactively identify and manage legal risk across end-to-end supply chain activities in collaboration with cross-functional legal and business partners.
  • Lead and develop a globally connected legal team with deep expertise in oncology, new modalities, planning frameworks, and digital supply ecosystems.
  • Oversee outside counsel strategy, workflow, and budget for advanced therapy, planning, and digital matters.
     

Qualifications

  • A J.D. or LL.M. with admission to and good standing with the bar of one state or the District of Columbia is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong experience supporting clinical and commercial supply chain as well as oncology products and/or advanced or emerging modalities preferred.
