As a Software Engineering Manager in Enterprise Technology, you are a major part of promoting this culture. The team being managed may be hybrid and you must be comfortable interacting with employees, business partners, and software vendors who may be in person or remote – including offshore - while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and communication.

This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Responsibilities require time in the office or in a field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered.

You will oversee a team of Software Engineers using Python to automate business processes and reporting while integrating extensively with services in the PNC environment. As a member of technology leadership, you will provide guidance on best practices to ensure solutions adhere to safety, soundness, resiliency, maintainability, and observability requirements. You will represent your team in discussions with the business and other technology stakeholders, sharing achievements and highlighting challenges to your success.

To excel as a Software Engineering Manager at PNC you will need a fundamental understanding of software delivery and support in an Agile environment, principles of IT Service Management, and a proactive mindset to identify and cure problems before they become more impactful. You must also serve as a career mentor, helping to educate and motivate Software Engineers to ensure consistent performance and growth while identifying training opportunities and skills gaps.

Job Description

• Manages development projects, development teams and application support functions.
• Oversees multiple application programming and analysis projects which include development, installation and maintenance of application programs.
• Monitors and maintains adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis.
