As a Business Analyst, you will be involved in multiple stages of the software development lifecycle. Along with manual testing of features, you be working early in the process by assisting the Product Manager and Engineering Leads in software feature grooming with a focus on defining acceptance criteria and feature requirements. You will also facilitate agile team ceremonies and follow scrum best practices to create a process and environment which will allow our delivery teams to maximize velocity and deliver high quality features to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with leadership to understand customer needs (epics), provides feedback, and translates needs into high-level requirements / backlog items (user stories).
- Facilitates detailed requirements gathering with internal and external stakeholders to gain consensus and groom backlog items into actionable user stores.
- For custom development work, contributes to the creation of the work order including estimation inputs and schedules and presents to the customer.
- Assists leadership in prioritizing the team backlog and acts as a proxy to ensure that delivery timelines are met across custom work and product development roadmaps.
- Assists software engineers in interpreting requirements during the design, development, and unit/integration testing phases.
- Ensures that external stakeholders are kept up to date through the software development process, especially when custom development work is undertaken.
- Performs exploratory testing of developed work to ensure that it meets the acceptance criteria and the customer’s needs prior to completion.
- For custom development work, coordinate customer acceptance testing of deliverables and remediation of any in-scope items of feedback.
- Documents defects and support issues, communicate steps to reproduce and work with software developers to debug software issues, and ensure robust software quality.
- Facilitates agile scrum ceremonies following scrum best practices (backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-up, sprint review, and sprint retrospective).
Requirements
- BA in Business, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Two - four years of experience as a Business Analyst in an Agile software development environment
- Strong understanding of iPaaS concepts and technologies
- Experience overseeing custom development projects
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in iPaaS and custom development
- Certifications in Agile Project Management/Scrum preferred
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner preferred
