Position Summary

 

As a technical writer within our fast-paced, highly variable business development environment, you will be responsible for writing and editing technical proposal content, maintaining our knowledge base, and supporting the industry solutions group as a part of the wider bid team and company knowledge ecosystem. You will leverage and expand your strong communications skills in this critical bridging function as you interface with commercial managers, solution directors, product owners, and various subject matter experts. You will help connect the people who know with the people who need to know internally and externally, balancing technical detail with nuances of tone and audience. The Industry Solutions Group solutions support technical writer position has elements of project management, knowledge management, process improvement, and business analysis; it provides excellent opportunities to leverage and expand your current skillset.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

•    Function as technical writer and proposal writer in support of Industry Solutions Group and the greater bid team, including developing new and maintaining existing content and documentation and creating high-quality, detailed content that is easy for customers to understand
•    Import proposal documents to, and export completed proposal content from, proposal management tool Responsive 
•    In course of proposal, function as technical support lead, coordinating assignment of technical content in Responsive to appropriate subject matter experts
•    Make first pass on technical proposal content in and occasionally outside of Responsive via the content library and with reference to Industry Solutions Group and commercial guidance on solution structure
•    Perform quality review (technical and copy edit) of technical proposal content before submittal
•    Maintain the knowledge base within Responsive
•    Develop a broad familiarity with the software, hardware, and services in company portfolio
•    Provide general support to solution directors, commercial managers, and wider bid team 
•    Support connected collaborative projects such as go-to-market strategy, knowledge management initiatives, and pre-sales support
•    Other duties as necessary/assigned

Education & Experience:

 

•    Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree
•    Required Minimum Years of Experience: 2+ to 5

•    Desired Education/Experience: Technical writing, business analysis, project management, proposal writing, content management, knowledge management, technical editing, or similar field.

•    Required/Desired Certifications: PMI or APMP certification is a plus
