About the role

Position Overview  

The Lacy School of Business Administrative Specialist for Experiential Learning Initiatives serves as the primary administrative support for all LSB experiential learning activities, supports related events, and assists the undergraduate office with external partners and other duties, as needed. The Administrative Specialist for Experiential Learning Initiatives will play a crucial role in supporting the coordination, execution, and evaluation of hands-on learning opportunities, such as the developing Angels Ventures organization, Student Run Captive Insurance Agency, Student Managed Investment Fund, Real Business Experience, Crossroads Classic Analytics Challenge, and Butler Entrepreneurship programming. Ensure seamless operations and foster collaboration between students, faculty, and external stakeholders. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic academic environment.

Responsibilities 

  • Program Support and Coordination:  Assist in planning and organizing experiential learning initiatives, including the developing Angels Venture Fund, Student Run Captive Insurance Agency, Real Business Experience, and Crossroads Classic Analytics Challenge. Manage initiative calendars, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution. Collaborate with faculty and staff to align goals and logistics.  
  • Student Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for students participating in LSB experiential learning initiatives, providing guidance and addressing inquiries. Manage application processes and required filings, documentation for initiatives, including reviewing submissions and maintaining participant records. Organize orientation sessions and post-program debriefs to maximize student learning outcomes.  
  • Administrative and Operational Support: Oversee budgets for initiatives like Angel Ventures, Real Business Experience, track expenses, and ensure alignment with LSB Director of Budgets and Personnel. Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation for all experiential learning initiatives.  

Prepare and disseminate program materials, schedules, and surveys.  

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with industry partners, alumni, and community organizations to exeute and promote experiential learning opportunities for experiential learning initiatives. Support outreach and partnership development efforts to expand program offerings.  Coordinate communication and reporting between stakeholders and the business school leadership.  
  • Assessment and Continuous Improvement: Collect and analyze feedback from students, faculty, and partners to assess the impact of initiatives such as the Real Business Experience and identify areas for enhancement. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and data summaries for internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, education or related.
  • Minimum of 3 years in program administration, project coordination, or a similar role. Experience in higher education is a plus.  
  • Proficient in office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and program management software.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
