Job Description

The Commercial Solutions Division is part of ITW's North America Welding Commercial Platform. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for driving results by accurately preparing, interpreting and communicating all division financial information. This individual will be an active leader of the division’s core accounting team and will assist in adhering to and applying all ITW principles and procedures and internal controls. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with excellent leadership skills and the ability to work well as a team and individually. Candidate must be a fast learner and be able to balance multiple projects. This position is based in Appleton, WI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

This position is a key function within the accounting department. The Senior Accountant will work to ensure accuracy of financial records and integrity of data shared with management, assist in adhering to top 13 internal controls, and complying to ITW's policies and procedures and applicable laws.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing process effectively and efficiently
• Prepare accurate financial statements, maintain/reconcile ledger accounts, update and report out on department budgets
• Finished goods inventory management including participation in cycle counting program, monitoring months on hand, and warranty analysis
• Provides sales and inventory analysis reports as needed to help support the division
• Provide timely data through ad-hoc reporting for other managers to assist with decision-making
• Be analytical, inquisitive, and precise in explanations
• Demonstrates a strong ability to understand macro and micro trends to quickly discern inaccuracies
• Assists in capital expenditure requests and audits as needed
• Helps other employees understand how their decisions will impact the financial results
• Identifies, communicates, and trains others on key business drivers
• Be a champion of the ITW Toolbox; utilizing 80/20 in all critical thinking toward applying sound judgment to analyze processes, identifying, and acting upon opportunities to reduce complexity and simplify processes
• Preforms related work as apparent or assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
• 3-5 years of broad accounting experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
• Proven track record of being a natural leader and a highly motivated individual
• Must have a sharp sense of top priorities for the business and is detail oriented with strong problem solving and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with others
• Demonstrate the ability to develop positive and productive peer relationships
• Willing to develop self and others with potential for future opportunities in the organization
• Ability to resolve issues/conflicts in a timely manner
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to balance multiple projects and adhere to business deadlines
• ERP and Financial Reporting software experience required, Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations expertise preferred
• Advanced MS Excel skill is required
