CNC Machining Technician - Student Program

If you are a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining Technician looking to grow your career, Copeland has a newly available position for you! Our Sidney, Ohio location is looking for a Scroll Machining Technician, who will be responsible for the operation and basic troubleshooting of CNC equipment and automation to meet safety, quality, cost, and production goals. You will support all manufacturing and maintenance groups, as needed. You will also direct and develop hourly employees within the area and take ownership of 5S activities and line reliability.

AS A CNC MACHINING TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL: 

• Be accountable for safety, quality, cost, and production goals, while running the line.
• Be responsible for the start-up and operation of CNC equipment, automation equipment, and gaging equipment.
• Review gauge traces, analyze, and make needed offsets in machines.
• Change inserts, drills, and endmills.
• Conduct PMs on tool work-holding, and change when needed.
• Perform model changes.
• Conduct initial troubleshooting of production issues and repair, if capable.
• Maintain uninterrupted product flow through the line.
• Take direction from and collaborate with leadership to mitigate downtime.
• Actively participate in GEMBA walks (whiteboards).
• Actively engage and participate in 5S and Kaizen events and help identify improvement opportunities.
• Direct hourly employees working within the area.
• Perform machine coordination and gauge operator duties, as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Pursuing a technical degree at a trade school or technical college in the Sidney, OH area.
• Must be open to working all shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
• Knowledge of basic machining practices.
• Basic understanding of gauging practices.
• Strong analytical and technical skills.
• Ability to perform machine coordination and gauge operator duties.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and the hourly workforce.
• Ability to flex work schedule based on needs of the operation.
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role. 

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

• CNC machining experience in a production environment.
• Automation experience with robotics in a production environment.

Schedule

1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM EST

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM EST

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM EST

Additional Information

• 6% shift differential for off-shifts
• Overtime compensation on top of base salary
