Java - Applications Development Senior Lead

Citi market Technology team is seeking a highly motivated and strong Applications Development lead to expand the existing global team. The team is developing an Intra-day Liquidity platform for Citi's global Internal organization and leverages cutting edge technologies in the areas of web-based cashflow data visualization and balance processing using Java based Microservices, Mongo DB using Kafka and high performance distributed processing. The successful candidate should have proven application development experience, strong analytical skills, technical depth, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications

• Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects.

• Take ownership of end-to-end design, development, and delivery of key components

• Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas

• Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participating in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project

• Deliver high quality technical solutions to multiple global stakeholders in a fast paced environment

• Work collaboratively as part of a large global team delivering analytics and data visualization solutions

• Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards, negotiating with external parties when necessary

• Effectively communicate development progress to clients and technology leaders

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant application development experience in the Financial Services industry.

• Experience as an Applications Development lead

• Excellent stakeholder management experience

• Demonstrated technical leadership and project management skills. Any experience with Agile methodologies a plus.

• Consistent, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

• Hands-on background at a senior level in an Applications Development role utilizing  Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Mongo DB, Microservices/RESTful web services and Workflows

• Practical knowledge of design patterns for providing scalable architectural solutions to complex design issues

• Good knowledge of Web-based UX technologies (Angular, HTML5, ReactJs, JSON, JQuery, JavaScript)

• Extensive experience with relational databases. Oracle or equivalent with SQL or PL/SQL programming expertise

• Experience with source code management and release management tools such as Git/Bitbucket, Gradle/Maven and Jenkins

• Experience in Web/Application , Cloud, Container and Virtualization Technologies (Openshift ECS preferred)

• Knowledge or experience with No SQL DB technologies (MongoDB), caching technologies Hazelcast/Apache Ignite and Sybase/Oracle would be an added advantage.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
