OBJECTIVES:

  • Fully integrate into the R&D finance team and Pharmaceutical Sciences group
  • Provide tactical and strategic insight to the business and key stakeholders on day-to-day activities as well as projects
  • Provide the tools necessary to leadership to make strategic financial decisions
  • Enable the teams to be fiscally responsible and achieve financial targets
  • Manage cross functional partnerships between Pharmaceutical Sciences and R&D Therapeutic Area Units (TAU) and GMS.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Finance business partner to Pharmaceutical Sciences, focusing on robust forecasts for pipeline related spend
  • Project support on various initiatives throughout R&D
  • Budget and forecast preparation and adherence
  • Monthly/quarterly/year-end closes in partnership with accounting
  • Prepare and deliver high quality presentations and reporting to management/project teams
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5 years of overall business experience, and/or
  • Previous accountability for setting financial objectives and managing budget adherence
  • Demonstrated experience supporting leadership discussions and driving solutions/insights that influence decision with broad impact on business. 
  • Ability to determine methods and types of analyses to be performed to address a business question.  Ability to interpret and question data inputs to financial models and support alternative recommendations as necessary.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet specific deadlines in a changing environment, ability to be flexible, accommodating, and to deal with change effectively.
  • Ability to recognize, forecast and communicate events, which may impact the business.
