About the role

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Product Development Manager has primary responsibility over a vertical product.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Pre-RFQ Strategy Development

  • Facilitate strategy calls between GTM, Sales, and Product teams before RFQ release.
  • Develop and maintain an RFQ account plan for the bidding process.

Document Review and Communication

  • Review all relevant documents and communicate key requirements to the GTM team.
  • Ensure Sales completes all required questions for RFPs.

Q&A Communication

  • Act as the liaison for Q&A between GTM, Sales, and Product teams.

Meeting Coordination

  • Organize and host all kickoff, sign-off, and postmortem meetings.

Postmortem Analysis

  • Review postmortem information and compile data into the appropriate repository.

RFP Pipeline Development

  • Collaborate with Sales stakeholders to develop an RFP pipeline.

RFP Preparation

  • Review past RFPs to gather key information for future use.

Product Strategy

  • Analyze required data to inform product strategy.

Trade Lane Strategy

  • Collaborate with Product to develop the trade lane strategy and volume budget 

Trade Lane Profitability

  • Review the monthly profitability and engage the Product in the re-procurement strategy
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Job requires the ability to use vision, adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen
  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment
  • Job may require travel
  • Job will require walking in an office, warehouse and outdoors setting
  • Job will require regular and punctual attendance and will require presence on-site at the assigned work location

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Clear communication; verbal and written
  • Research and analysis
  • Presentation skills
  • Business acumen and understanding of financial principles

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 5 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry
  • Previous product management experience

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.
