The SUNY Rochester EOC (REOC) has been an established adult educational facility in the city of Rochester NY for over 50 years. Conveniently located in Downtown Rochester, the REOC has earned the reputation as one of the outstanding Centers in the state. REOC is one of ten Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) and two Career Counseling and Outreach Centers located throughout New York State, each with a commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce and student population. When you join the REOC, you are a part of a team with student success as the focus! Job Summary: The REOC is currently accepting applications for a Healthcare Lecturer of Practical Nursing. Under the direct supervision of the Practical Nursing Program Coordinator, the Healthcare Lecturer has the responsibility of teaching twenty contact hours per week, which includes classroom, lab, and clinical instruction. Other key job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: reviewing and planning course content and course information sheets; curriculum planning and review; lesson planning; evaluating and guiding student's learning experiences; participating in the selection of textbooks, course materials, and computer software; reporting job and college placements; engaging in academic advisement; attending REOC staff and Healthcare department meetings; participating in ongoing professional development; keeping four office hours per week; and serving on a minimum of two center-wide committees. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current unencumbered New York State RN license.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or are actively pursuing/enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in nursing for Clinical Instruction.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, or are actively pursuing/enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in nursing for Didactic Instruction.
  • Successful experience working with an economically and culturally diverse population.
  • Demonstrated experience in training/teaching and classroom management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • Demonstrated experience in acute medical surgical nursing and long-term care.
  • Experience teaching practical nursing.
  • Experience teaching adult learners.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm Salary and Benefits: The minimum salary for this position is $57,899.
