Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Proposal Writer to join our team in either Herndon, Virginia OR Hanover, MD with significant telework.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides draft and final input to technical, management, past performance, or personnel sections of proposal volumes, working with subject matter experts to translate technical information into proposal text in response to RFP requirements

  • Have the ability to write and lead any proposal volume

  • Major proposal support areas are Technical and Management, with activities including interviewing subject matter experts, creating new text, and tailoring existing information to meet RFP requirements

  • Additional activities include review and editing of proposal sections and volumes, understanding and meeting the proposal schedule, working with other proposal and review team members, preparing documentation for formal reviews, and responding to direction from the proposal manager

  • Mentor junior writers to help grow their writing skills and take on new proposal sections

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of related technical and/or proposal writing/editing experience OR a Master's degree and 2 years of experience

  • The candidate must be highly organized and have outstanding writing and editing skills and experience, specifically focused on Government proposals

  • The candidate must have the ability to work and meet deadlines, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and work as part of a team

  • The candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively with technical staff to produce quality documents for delivery to a variety of clients

  • Characteristics necessary for success include: analytical, presentation, reasoning and problem-solving skills; the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision or feedback; and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with supported staff, managers and peers

  • Candidate must have a high level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Minimum Top Secret clearance is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
