Summary:

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving at Rollins College will manage various annual giving programs to inspire philanthropic support. Responsibilities include planning and executing direct response communication campaigns to raise unrestricted funds for multiple schools and departments, managing student fundraising programs, and overseeing general stewardship communications. The AD will collaborate on the annual Giving Day effort and assist with daily operations. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Annual Giving, the AD must have excellent writing and communication skills, strong attention to detail, superior project management abilities, and be a proactive relationship builder for effective collaboration with colleagues, campus partners, students, and donors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop multi-channel annual giving strategies.
  • Manage a series of direct response campaigns to increase giving to the Rollins Annual Fund and other campus priorities by educating, engaging, and soliciting constituents.
  • Develop creative and effective messaging for solicitation and stewardship communications to drive annual giving growth and philanthropic support.
  • Manage content creation and execution, audience segmentation, vendor management, and all phases of the editing process.
  • Develop and implement solicitation and stewardship strategies to strengthen philanthropic engagement among students.
  • Manage the planning and execution of Student Philanthropy Week and Senior Giving annual campaigns.
  • Support strategies to increase leadership giving, including collaboration with Major, Parent, and Planned Giving teams to coordinate leadership solicitations and stewardship of annual gifts to the Rollins Annual Fund.
  • Act as a liaison to select campus partners, including but not limited to the Crummer Graduate School of Business, the Hamilton Holt School, Athletics, and the Rollins Museum of Art to establish goals and develop solicitations to increase annual fund support from targeted constituencies.
  • Serve on the core team for planning and executing annual Giving Day.
  • Manage data strategy for series of direct marketing efforts that employ annual giving best practices and improve donor participation, engagement, and retention; define criteria to pull audience data, and manage segmentation and preparation to ensure accuracy and integrity of communications.
  • Manage general Annual Giving operations, including responding to inquiries from alumni, parents, and other constituents made through the general Giving phone and/or email account in a timely manner, creating appeal codes, building online giving forms, requesting vanity URLs, etc.
  • Draft and maintain documentation for business processes and policies.
  • Research and ensure best practices are developed and deployed while also testing new strategies.
  • Support Alumni Weekend and other alumni or Advancement programs.
Minimum 
Qualifications & Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least one year of work experience in annual giving, direct marketing, fundraising and development, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in higher education and/or non-profit.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated initiative, creative energy, and ability to manage complex programs or communications.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in an ambiguous and ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning, project management and organizational skills; keen attention to detail; ability to set and balance multiple priorities and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Creative and resourceful thinker with strong skills in collaboration and partnership-building. Ability to work independently and as a team player while handling multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience employing technology, digital marketing tools, data management and analytics to optimize fundraising efforts. Familiarity with relevant and contemporary tools/technologies for email marketing, html, content management, social media, video, online giving, texting, etc.
  • An aptitude for numbers, data, and analysis is essential.
