UnboundEd recently joined two other professional learning organizations, Pivot Learning and CORE Learning. Together as one entity, we are now the largest equity-focused professional learning organization in the nation. We provide evidence-based, comprehensive instructional and curriculum support to educators and school system leaders in over 40 states across the country.
UnboundEd empowers educators to transform teaching and learning. We work with classroom teachers, school leaders and district executives to ensure engaging, affirming and meaningful grade-level instruction, so that we eliminate the predictability of student outcomes by race and socioeconomic status. We focus on the needs of students of color and those who have historically been at the margins, because when we do that, all students benefit.
ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President, Program Design, the Specialist, Leadership Programs is responsible for supporting the vision, strategy, and goals for UnbounEd’s Leadership and Multi-touch Programs. The Specialist, Leadership Program will work with the Director, Leadership Programs and Senior Director, Cohort Programs to contribute to all phases of the content development process, resulting in the design and development of our various leadership offerings including our virtual year-round programs. This position also supports the implementation of our leadership offerings and programs, managing facilitator selection, coaching, and training, as well as associated administrative and communication tasks and/or needs.
UnboundEd is a virtual organization, and this employee can be based anywhere in the United States. UnboundEd has core business hours where we expect all staff to be available from 9 am to 5 pm local time and 25% travel is required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Cohort Programs
- Content Development: Contributes to creating, revising, and evaluating a wide range of professional development materials across all content areas for various stakeholder groups (e.g., school-based and district-level coaches, administrators, system leaders, etc.) with support from their manager.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborates with staff working on these programs to develop and implement the Cohort Program.
- Event Support: Supports facilitators with setting up and preparing for synchronous learning experiences.
- Technical Assistance: Provides technical assistance to facilitators and participants as needed and/or ensures other internal colleagues provide technical assistance to program participants
- Facilitator Engagement: Provides training, high-level trends, feedback, and plans for the next steps to facilitators
- School Site Support: Provides support for schools and organizational partners through classroom observations and other professional development experiences
- Client Engagement: Works in tandem with the Senior Director, Cohort Programs, to build ongoing stakeholder relationships with school systems and translate local client context to inform multiple touchpoint engagements and their implementation (e.g., expand on the District Profile to include local history of reform efforts; racial history and integration milestones; current socio-political context; organizational structures and titles, etc) and serve as main point of contact for progress checks and step-backs
Leadership Programs, Development, and Implementation
- Research: Assists in researching, selecting, curating, and organizing resources around current trends in education and educational leadership
- Design Review: Contributes to branding, coherence, and alignment review of new and existing professional development content.
- Content Development: Supports in designing event or program-specific decks and materials using UnboundEd style guide.
- Content Evaluation: Works in alignment with organizational outcome, creating assessments and/or contributing to creating event/offering-specific surveys in collaboration with our internal data and research team.
- Event Support: Supports observation and coaching during live events, keeping a keen eye on high-level trends, helping isolate and prioritize real-time feedback, and/or using trends to debrief with facilitators. Works across teams to support a positive and productive participant experience via assigned roles/tasks.
- Facilitator Engagement: Co-trains facilitators with content internalization, effective facilitative practices, equity literacy, and providing facilitators with partner context and/or nuances to content across lines of
