What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Director for Academic Support within the Office Student Success and Engagement (OSSE). The Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in the success of our academic support programs within the OSSE department. This position involves supervising key program managers and specialists, identifying at-risk students, implementing proactive strategies to enhance academic engagement, and utilizing data-driven approaches for effective intervention. The Associate Director is also responsible for coordinating with OSSE staff to generate annual assessment reports and contributing to the planning of departmental events.
A Bachelor’s Degree and three years of relevant work experience is required. A Master’s Degree and five years of relevant work experience is preferred.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the Supplemental Instruction Program Manager, Tutoring Program Manager, and Academic Mentoring Program Manager
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Proactively identify common academic challenges and create systemic changes to promote student success for all students
- Be attuned to the challenges faced by course repeaters and assist with an individualized approach to address their needs
- Connect at-risk students with appropriate academic support resources
- Utilize early alerts and collaborate with departmental resources to provide timely intervention for those students
- Identify and implement new strategies to increase student engagement with academic resources and support programs
- Assist with technical applications and systems to effectively collect, analyze, and interpret data for decision-making and intervention
- Coordinate departmental annual assessment efforts
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support the mission of Baylor University
- Comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
