About the role

Description

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Applicant must have experience in healthcare systems administration, hospital operations & practice management in a large, academic medical center and/or similarly complex environment including leadership experience. Strong preference for active involvement in national organizations and relevant committees. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Applicants must be eligible for PA medical license. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Teaching responsibilities may include high quality teaching including didactic lectures to interns, fellows, residents, as well as medical students from the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Excellence in teaching is required. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing inpatient/CL/ER consult and/or outpatient services in the Integrated Division. Candidates must show evidence of continued excellence in clinical care and supervision.

Leadership responsibilities may include directing clinical activities in the section while promoting research and educational activities, recruitment of faculty and partnering with quality improvement teams. Required Skill: Developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical, and administrative staff, patients, and the public pertaining to the care of children with medically and psychiatrically complex needs.
