Part-Time Crematory Operator - Louisville, KY (Dixie Highway)

Newcomer Funeral Service Group is currently seeking a part-time Crematory Operator to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. This position supports the timely and respectful care of decedents for our three chapels across the Kentuckiana market and works opposite our full-time operator, primarily during evenings and weekends.

This role is a great fit for individuals with backgrounds in medical services, AMR, or the military, as well as those currently enrolled in or considering mortuary science school. As a Crematory Operator, you’ll be responsible for managing the cremation schedule, operating and maintaining crematory equipment, and ensuring compliance with all regulations. You’ll handle cremated remains with the utmost care and maintain accurate records throughout the process. Training will be provided for the right candidate, and the position offers a meaningful opportunity to grow within a supportive and respectful environment.

Qualified applicants will possess a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Applicants must be certified to operate a crematory or ability to obtain proper certification.  

Essential Physical Responsibilities

•    Ability to tolerate exposure to hazardous substances subject to government requirements; exposure to high heat and noise levels; occasional lifting, pushing and pulling, with assistance, of objects up to approximately 600 pounds; manual dexterity required for clerical tasks; occasional stooping, bending, pushing, pulling and carrying objects weighing up to approximately 30 pounds for short distances.  
•    Ability to travel by standard methods of transportation.
