Description

Job Summary: The Construction Operations Manager provides leadership and overall direction to the construction division and to our customers. This role is a member of the Senior Management Team and is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day leadership and operational management within the Construction Services.

 

Job Responsibilities: Including but not limited to

  • Develop and Implement Construction Operating Plan.
  • Lead, direct, and coordinate the daily operations activities of the construction department. 
  • Provides oversight and pre-development input to the pre-con, purchasing / estimating team.
  • Plans and coordinates all final construction documents, schedules, and collaborates with pre-con and purchasing. 
  • Responsible for all aspects of multiple projects from start to finish.
  • Provide leadership and oversight, internal and external, regarding the successful execution of the project work flow and task management with the collective team.
  • Oversee the preparation from the Project Managers of weekly & monthly reports on project progress.
  • Regularly updates the project schedules with the Corporate Scheduler.
  • Responsible for ongoing resource development.
  • Analyzes job costs and manages the project to the closing budget.
  • Mediate situations of conflict and find mutual resolution with all respective parties, both internally and externally.
  • Perform Performance Evaluations for construction associates.
  • Ensures associates and subcontractors remain in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Executes successful completion and close-out and the acceptance of each project by the operating teams.
  • Completes Special Projects as assigned by Director of Construction.

 

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience with all applicable Florida building codes.
  • Experience working on hospitality, multi-family residential, commercial and/or senior living facilities is highly desirable.
  • Highly proficient with personal computers, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, clients, co-workers and management team.

 

Working Conditions:

  • The position requires spending time on construction sites, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and physical activity.
  • Regular travel to different construction sites is required.
  • Flexible working hours may be needed to meet project deadlines.
