Position Overview

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of Air (BOA), Air Pollution Control Division, Permit Section, Clean Air Act Permit Program (CAAPP) Operating Unit 1(A) is seeking a motivated Environmental Protection Engineer I. This entry‑level engineering position offers hands‑on training and experience in reviewing air permit applications for a wide variety of operations and air pollution control systems. The selected candidate will also support BOA staff in conducting investigations, inspections, and monitoring activities for facilities regulated under the Clean Air Act Permit Program. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop foundational engineering and regulatory skills while contributing to the protection of air quality in Illinois.
