About the role

The role of the EMR Systems Instructor is to develop and conduct training programs for new and existing clients, as well as regular monitoring and maintenance of eClinicalWorks electronic Medical Records (EMR) application, and support users in every step of the utilization of this application to all departments. Individual and group trainings are the standard.

 

This position is responsible for training on both non-clinical and clinical content and is expected to be proficient with all aspects of the EMR. The candidate should be able to assess others’ proficiency, provide individualized support, and detailed observations that will be documented in the employee's training record.

This position will report to the Manager EMR Instruction. 

 

Position Requirements / Qualifications:                               

  • Bachelor’s degree required. In Lieu of a degree, 5-7 years of experience in a health-related field might be considered.
  • 5+ Years’ experience training on an electronic medical record system, preferably eClinicalWorks.
  • Hybrid work environment. Time on-site is determined by needs of the clients and department.
  • Strong effective teaching, presentation, and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and make independent decisions while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication, decision making, leadership and problem-solving skills public speaking and technical presentation skills.
  • Classroom management, experience in adult education, and Curriculum Development experience a plus.
  • Expertise in healthcare business processes and associated clinical application software. 
  • Ability to effectively motivate clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels during training sessions
  • Keen understanding of clinical workflows and how software can aid in patient care.
  • Knowledge of FQHC a plus.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to work at various locations, when necessary, along with working various shifts.


Specific Job Responsibility include: 

  1. The EMR Systems Trainer will provide end-user support and follow ups in multiple ways; this may include, but are not limited to:
    1. Group trainings for new employees
    2. Group training for existing employee
    3. Individual structured trainings as needed
    4. Perform on-site training sessions and some virtual training session
    5. Create video recordings for specific training topic
    6. Follow ups for Providers on a 2 and 6-weeks basis
    7. Perform on-site visits to assist with EMR needs at health centers.
  2. Mentoring new trainers through coaching and observation.
     
  3. Review, test and implement application upgrades under the direction of the Manager of Technical Instruction and Director EMR Systems.
  4. Workflow analysis and optimization.
  5. Create and customize all user accounts, as well as deactivate them as needed.
  6. Monitor the Ticketing System throughout the day (when not in training) and respond to all issues in a timely manner.
  7. Answer helpline and maintain a log of issues with escalation to management, as needed, following the established workflow. 
  8. Develop and maintain EMR training aides
  9. Provide onsite go live support and follow up during new system implementation
  10.  Ensure the integrity of EMR data and maintain the confidentiality of all related information
  11. Completes required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements
  12. Participate in special projects, as needed, and perform other duties as assigned


Pay: $57,276.10 - $85,914.16
