We are looking for a passionate, talented Applied Scientists with a growth mindset who are adept at a variety of skills, especially with an array of Computer Vision and Machine Learning methods.

Key job responsibilities
This role is focused on developing performing, real-time Computer Vision and Machine Learning solutions and their associated deployment. You will develop core models that will be foundational of the key operational features that we are launching. You will conduct literature reviews to stay on the cutting edge of the field. You will regularly engage with product managers, software engineers, hardware engineers and stakeholders who will partner with you to guide and productize your work.- Drive end-to-end Computer Vision and Machine Learning methods that have a high degree of ambiguity, scale and complexity.
- Build machine learning models, perform proof-of-concept, experiment, optimize, and deploy your models into production; work closely with software engineers and product managers to assist in productionizing your ML models.
- Perform hands-on analysis on multi-sensor data sets to develop insights that drive product requirements.
- Run A/B experiments, gather data, and perform statistical analysis.
- Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation and serving.
- Research new and innovative sensor processing and Computer Vision approaches.
- Mentor and help recruit Applied Scientists to the team.
- Present results and explain methods to team leadership.
- Write and pursue IP submissions.

- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java or Perl
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
- Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Basic Qualifications
