The National Center for Child Traumatic Stress (NCCTS), co-located at UCLA and Duke University, is the coordinating center for the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). The NCCTS is seeking applicants for the position of NCCTS Liaison. The NCCTS leads, coordinates, and facilitates national collaborations and initiatives across child-servicing systems and multiple topical domains, producing child trauma resources, products, reports and information for providers, treatment developers, families, caregivers, and youth. Note: the NCCTS does not provide direct clinical services.

 

Organizational Summary:

The NCTSN is a unique federally funded (SAMHSA) initiative which seeks to improve the quality, effectiveness, and availability of care and services for children and families who are exposed to a wide range of traumatic experiences, including physical and sexual abuse; domestic, school, and community violence; racial, gender, ability, and other types of identity-related traumas; and natural disasters and terrorism. Combining knowledge of child development, expertise in child traumatic stress, and attention to cultural perspectives, the NCTSN supports the development and broad adoption of evidence-based and trauma-informed treatments. The NCTSN is a collaboration of 207 academic, clinical, and community service centers across the U.S. and its territories.

 

This position is 100% grant funded.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The NCCTS Liaison is a key member of the Site Integration and Collaboration Program, dedicated to fostering a trauma-informed, equitable, and collaborative environment within the NCTSN. This role requires a strong foundation in anti-racism and anti-oppression principles, coupled with exceptional relationship-building, collaboration, and project management skills. The successful candidate will provide consultation, facilitate collaboration, and contribute to initiatives to enhance trauma-informed care and services for children, families, and communities.

• Provide ongoing consultation to an assigned portfolio of network grantees about areas of trauma-informed care for children, families, and communities.
• Lead activities within national collaborations in partnership with NCTSN centers and our federal funding agency; including the multi-faceted work of topical collaborative committees.
• Facilitate effective communication among NCTSN members, the NCCTS, and other key individuals/groups.
• Promote and champion the centering and inclusion of individuals leading with lived expertise across all projects and activities, particularly people of color and those who hold historically excluded identities.
• Conduct in-person site visits to grantee member centers.
• Facilitate collaboration, practice/knowledge sharing, and peer support among Network members.
• Project manage and contribute content knowledge to collaborative projects, best practice resources, activities, and initiatives.
• Identify and disseminate best practices, trends, and innovations within the NCTSN.
• Identify and elevate trends, collaborative successes, and best and promising practices throughout the NCTSN.
• Develop and facilitate topical collaborative spaces such as communities of practice, collaborative groups, and project workgroups.
