Job Description:

Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Reproductive Endocrinology and Women's Health.

This is a postdoctoral fellowship in the Reproductive Endocrinology and Women’s Health Laboratory for training in maternal health and pregnancy-related translational research. The fellowship will be supervised by Dr. Leanne Redman and will provide training in clinical and translational research, clinical trial management, as well as develop skills in critical thinking, manuscript writing and grant writing necessary for establishing an independent research career. Specific expertise will be developed in understanding measurements of energy intake, physical activity as well as body composition in people who are pregnant and their infants and development and implementation of lifestyle interventions. The fellow will join a large multidisciplinary team and receive hands-on training in ongoing NIH funded clinical trials and data analysis and writing through access to existing datasets from studies that imposed lifestyle, dietary and/or pharmacological interventions to understand how body weight, adiposity and insulin resistance impact physiological function across the lifespan.

Applicants should be seeking a 3 year postdoctoral position. 

Major Responsibilities

Responsibilities include clinical trial management; behavioral intervention execution, data collection, data analysis, and preparation of data for publication in peer-reviewed journals; hypothesis generation; grant writing; scientific communication and mentoring of undergraduate students.  

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Nutrition, Kinesiology or a related discipline.

• Show strong scientific credentials in the field of weight management.

• Have a minimum of five (5) academic publications.

• Excellent communication skills.
