As an Agile Business Analyst, you are a key player in shaping Tax Analysts’ products and creating value for customers. This role calls for an agile thinker who can seamlessly work with stakeholders to transform business objectives into defined development efforts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in product discovery and research initiatives -- including user journey definitions and mapping diagrams -- to gather, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of both internal and external stakeholders and convert them into actionable requirements that are focused on improved usability, user experience, and user adoption and engagement.
  • Gather and analyze user data to support customer-focused product decisions and work with leadership to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for Agile development teams.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Advocate for the customer and business value throughout the development process to help make product decisions more efficient.
  • Participate in Sprint Refinement, as part of the Agile Team, to help subject matter experts and engineers clarify user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Act as a Product Owner, define and manage a product throughout its lifecycle, and collaborate with the other members of the Product Strategy Team on roadmap planning and prioritization.
  • Work with an Agile team to plan and schedule project timelines and milestones, using appropriate tools to ensure timely delivery.
  • Facilitate feedback and communication between stakeholders and engineers and manage stakeholder communications, including project status updates.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide feedback for refinements to ensure delivered solutions meet the defined requirements and quality standards.
  • Capture metrics and KPIs for project retrospectives to measure project performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project and training documentation that reflects the scope and complexities of the project, including requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze gaps in business processes and recommend improvements that could enhance the company’s value to customers.
  • Evaluate and help prioritize incoming product or feature requests and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business objectives, requirements, and processes.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent technical and nontechnical writing, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to resolve problems that require tact and discretion
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cross-departmental projects simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks using analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Initiative-taking and able to follow tasks through to final delivery
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience working with Agile or Scrum framework
  • Understanding of product development, marketing and customer service principles
  • Understanding of project management principles

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or the equivalent in additional experience.
  • 4+ years of related work experience including business analysis and/or project management
  • Business Analyst certification, CSPO/RPO, or CSM/RSM preferred
