UW Continuum College (UWC2) has up to five outstanding opportunities for part-time instructors in the customized Digital Skills course offered by International Specialized Programs between October 13 and November 14, 2025. This intensive in-person course offered at UW Seattle is a customized large lecture course created for 100-110 Thai high school students selected by Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa). The training is part of a nationwide initiative to transform Thailand into a global tech and supply chain hub by boosting digital skills, creating job opportunities, and streamlining business ecosystems through tax incentives, digital training, and investor-friendly reforms.

We are looking for instructors to teach and develop course content for one or more of the following five modules in this course:

Digital Citizenship, Ethics & Core Tools for Collaboration and Project Management 
October 13th to October 17th (One week, T-F, 8:30-11:30 AM)
Students will be introduced to essential digital skills including online ethics, responsible digital behavior, and foundational tools for collaboration (e.g., Google Workspace, Trello, Slack). Emphasis is placed on effective communication, teamwork, and managing group work in a digital environment.

Creative Problem Solving & Business Thinking in a Digital World 
October 20th to October 24th (One week, M-F, 8:30-11:30 AM)
This week focuses on developing students' ability to generate ideas, evaluate business models, and tackle real-world challenges using digital tools. Interactive workshops will help students apply design thinking and innovation frameworks in team-based scenarios.

Coding Fundamentals, IoT & Smart Tech Applications 
October 27th to October 31st (One week, M-F, 8:30-11:30 AM)
Students gain hands-on experience with beginner-friendly coding platforms (e.g., Scratch, Thunkable) and explore the basics of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Lessons also cover how smart tech is applied across industries, with a focus on design, logic, and practical implementation.

AI Collaboration, Data Tools & Ethics in Emerging Tech 
November 3rd to November 7th (One week, M-F, 8:30-11:30 AM) 
Learners explore how AI can be used collaboratively through tools like ChatGPT and Google AI, while building data literacy using visualization platforms. The week also includes critical conversations on privacy, bias, and ethical use of advanced technologies.

Global Impact, Pitching, & Project Delivery 
November 10th to November 14th (One week, M, W-F, 8:30-11:30 AM)
The final week is dedicated to refining communication skills, finalizing group projects, and delivering compelling presentations. Students pitch their digital solutions to a panel, emphasizing innovation, global relevance, and real-world application.

Instructors serve a key role in certificate programs, engaging with students, serving as subject matter experts, presenting learning content, and assessing whether learners have achieved course competencies. 

The pay range for instructor positions is $1400-1600 per CEU* per course, commensurate with experience and qualifications. *This course is the equivalent of 6.9 CEUs. In addition to Instructor pay, course development work will be paid at $50/hr. We anticipate the Course Developer will spend up to 40 hours creating course content for each module.

Instructors will...

• Teach to a set curriculum plan with clear learning outcomes and competencies
• Prepare course content in advance of the course start date
• Ensure that lesson plans and presentation materials for each module are relevant and current
• Teach all class sessions at the scheduled time and location on the UW Seattle C
