Center Store Manager

Up to $87,647.50 PER YEAR
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to ensure that the center store maintains quality standards and profitability. This person will train and mentor all center store associates and know all aspects of the grocery, dairy, frozen and home, health, and beauty departments. This person will also oversee the total store in the Store Directors absence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided by the center store
• Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the center store
• Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
• Ensures the center store is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
• Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
• Ordering product to meet the needs of the center store based on past and projected sales
• Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
• Sets a professional and positive example to others
• Communicates openly and frequently with Store Director, Director of Grocery, and Grocery Buyer
• Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
• Teaches, mentors, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the team
• Provides honest, direct, and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement; assesses associate performance and influences promotion, discipline, etc.
• Promptly addresses and resolves associates’ concerns and/or grievances
• Takes on the Store Directors responsibilities when he/she is not in the store
• Writing the center store schedule to ensure coverage and meet labor goals
• Quarterly inventory of all center store products
MARGINIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
A high school diploma or GED and some college education are preferred; five years of grocery, frozen, dairy, or home, health, and beauty experience preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic math skills
• Understanding of product rotation
• Must obtain Harmons’ Forklift Certification
• Must enjoy working with and handling center store products
• Should have a passion for customer service
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures
• Excellent organization and planning skills
• Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills to communicate with and manage diverse groups of people effectively and efficiently
• Ability to handle conflict professionally and appropriately
• Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team
• Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized analytical skills and techniques
