North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Perform onsite surveillances, management of field documentation, and assisting with the management of M&TE. Ensure that the investigation reports are properly executed and evaluated. Verify that all required QC sampling, testing, and documentation are performed correctly. Perform acceptance and rejection of material placement. Perform quality assurance, quality control, and audits of LANL project reporting and documentation. Assist in developing, training, and verifying use of QA/QC procedures and instructions. Provide reports of observation and test results. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In this position, the applicant is expected to communicate with the reporting and administrative team effectively and regularly in order to conduct quality control and quality assurance on field activities, technical documentation, and investigative reports that cover the environmental investigation and remediation projects at LANL.
- Perform onsite surveillances to ensure we are implementing our project plans and standard operating procedures.
- Management of field documentation, including updating procedure binders, and assisting with the management of M&TE.
- Ensure that the investigation reports are properly executed and evaluated.
- Verify that all required construction QC sampling, testing, and documentation are performed correctly.
- Assist in the development, training, and verify use of Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and instructions.
- Participate in conducting daily quality checks and obtaining data for reports.
- Perform and support quality assurance, quality control, and audits of LANL project reporting and documentation.
- Assist in recording, maintaining, and submitting various information.
- Ensure that project record keeping is effective, thorough, and complete.
- Perform acceptance and rejection of material placement.
- Assist in developing, training, and verifying use of QA procedures and instructions.
- Provide other support with special projects and other duties assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to quality control and quality assurance review activities, the applicant is expected to assist with data and documentation management, data validation, and attend regular meeting to discuss progress regarding the reporting activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) – two (2) years of QA/QC experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be organized and detailed oriented.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and provide QA/QC Review
- Experience in QA/QC and knowledge of quality guidelines.
Special Requirements:
- Must pass pre-employment background check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
- Must have a valid driver license.
- Able to hold a DOE badge.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree in Engineering, Science or Equivalent or combination of education, training, and experience
- Experience working on a DOE site.
- Experience in environmental remediation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Applicant is expected to spend time in an office setting working with at a computer workstation as well as conducting field visits at sampling locations. This role will be sitting for frequent periods of time, but will also be required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This position is to be completed indoors in an office setting as well as outdoors for a portion of the time.
