Job Description:  Reports to the Director of Internal Communications, MUSC Health System.  Manages Internal Communications for clinical applications and other health system-wide internal communications.  Ensures that all internal communications are aligned with the organization’s branding and strategic intent.  Informs care team members and influences their understanding of leadership initiatives and decisions.  When given the opportunity to plan, will create messaging that helps care team members navigate change management regarding clinical applications.

Job Responsibilities:

35% - Manages the weekly creation and dissemination of Know the Ropes, the Epic Newsletter to all Epic users across the Health System.
Success Criteria:

  • Manages the production of Know The Ropes, by ensuring that it is prepared and disseminated every Friday.
  • Interacts with the Chief Medical Information Officer and the Systems Education and Digital Adoption team and other content experts to solicit newsletter content regarding clinical application changes, updates, upgrades, and new clinical applications.
  • Quickly issues targeted or mass notifications or information concerning alerts; or other urgent communication as needed in regard to clinical applications.
  • Participates on various committees, ad hoc work groups, and attends meetings to become familiar with clinical application issues needing mass and/or targeted communication; develops content and issues information as needed.
  • Collaborates with the Health System Internal Communications team to disseminate targeted content regarding clinical applications via the CMO Weekly Messages and The GATE.

20% - Manages the weekly creation and dissemination of Clinical Connections, the health system newsletter.
Success Criteria:

  • Contributes lead articles to Clinical Connections and works with the Internal Communications Director create Clinical Connections with a focus on health system-level content.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Internal Communications to review the internal news database for content.
  • Collaborates routinely with department leaders to formulate meaningful content.
  • Continually seeks to improve quality and readership of newsletters; works to maintain a reliable newsletter schedule with the newsletter going out every Thursday or sometimes Friday. 
  • Utilizes a multi-channeled communication platform to strategically issue content to ensure the highest readership and level of engagement.  Monitors data to guide communication methods.

20% - Manages the daily creation and dissemination of Safely Speaking, the health system newsletter.
Success Criteria:

  • Receives newsletter content from the Health System Quality Department.
  • Edits content submitted for conciseness and clarity.
  • Ensures that Safely Speaking content is engaging and easily digestible for non-clinical and clinical care team members.
  • Seeks input from care team members for ideas to improve the readership of Safely Speaking.

15% - Manages Health System Town Halls to ensure relevant and meaningful content is communicated to all care team member in the health system. 
Success Criteria:

  • Recommends meaningful and relevant content for system level town hall meetings in January and July of each year.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to prepare the Town Hall presentations in collaboration with the Director of Internal Communication and the Health System CEO.
  • Hosts the virtual Town Hall sessions every January and July.

5% - Supports the MCP Clinical Leader Meeting monthly virtual meetings.
Success Criteria:

  • Helps plan the agendas for the MCP Clinical Leader Meetings with the Chief Medical Officer for MCP.
