The National Medical Director of Clinical Excellence & Safety is a critical leadership role within the Clinical Excellence Office, responsible for driving clinical quality, patient safety, and high reliability across our value-based care organization. Reporting to the Chief Clinical Excellence Officer, this role will facilitate the creation and implementation of evidence-based clinical guidelines, support professional development and training, and lead initiatives that enhance patient safety and care delivery across our primary care organization.Reports to: Chief Clinical Excellence Officer

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership:
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based clinical guidelines across all CenterWell Senior Primary Care locations.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Excellence Office to support value-based specialty care initiatives and ensure alignment with national and organizational priorities.
- Oversee the deployment of our population health model, focusing on team-based care and improving outcomes for our senior patient population.
Patient Safety:
- Launch and lead a revamped national patient safety program, enhancing a culture of high reliability and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Develop and monitor key metrics, ensuring that patient safety initiatives are effective and aligned with best practices.
Professional Engagement:
- Deliver professional training programs that enhance clinical competencies, promote adherence to guidelines, and improve patient outcomes.
- Engage clinicians in meaningful decision-making processes, ensuring their input and feedback are integral to the organization’s clinical strategies.
Clinical Analytics:
- Collaborate with the informatics and analytics team to deliver highly effective health IT solutions that support clinical excellence and patient safety.
- Coordinate the development and deployment of clinical registries to monitor and improve patient outcomes and ensure the success of our population health model.
Communication and Coordination:
- Work closely with regional and local medical directors to ensure consistency in care delivery and adherence to national guidelines.
- Act as a liaison between the Clinical Excellence Office and frontline clinicians, ensuring that communication is clear, timely, and supportive of clinical excellence.
Use your skills to make an impact
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in a relevant specialty.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including experience in a leadership role within a provider organization.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing evidence-based clinical guidelines and patient safety programs.
- Strong understanding of population health management and team-based care.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with value-based, senior-focused care or geriatric populations.
- Knowledge of health informatics and their application in clinical settings.
- Experience in a national or multi-site healthcare organization.
