The opportunity:
The U.S. HR Governance and Compliance team provides proactive support to People Leaders, Employees and Human Resources, on a wide range of complex compliance issues, as well as contributing to the support of designated HR practices across the organization. The team focuses on the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk to achieve our compliance excellence objectives. The team also supports the US Immigration and Mobility programs with primary focus on full cycle sponsorship for incoming new hires and current employees as well as mobility for current employees within our global network.
The HR Governance and Compliance Consultant works in partnership with Employee Relations, HR Partners (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, HRBP) and business leaders, as required, in addressing specific, individual compliance and federal subcontractor-related matters, including administering, and developing risk controls, HR process audits and reporting, and identifying emerging issues and mitigation approaches.
The HR Governance and Compliance Consultant also partners with other members of the broader Human Resources, Risk and Compliance functions to deliver coordinated solutions for risk management program requirements, projects, and related deliverables in accordance with our practices and policies.
How you will contribute:
Governance, Risk, and Compliance Management:
Develop effective partnerships with Human Resources, Legal, Compliance and other key stakeholders to ensure effective resolution through collaboration for effective outcomes on all matters.
Review, finalize and provide guidance on risk control and compliance documentation to ensure clarity and precision to meet HR Compliance standard operating procedures.
Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to organize, synthesize, and analyze varied and complex information, problems, and data to make recommendations guided by policies, practices, procedures, and business need.
Create and revise internal/external policies, practices, procedures, and business based on new laws and regulations, as well as changes that may have risk implications.
Conduct periodic audits of current systems, procedures, policies, and workflows to ensure efficiency and legal compliance, including
Review and prepare all mandated reports, including, but not limited to EEO, AAP, VETs, which may include liaising with outside vendors.
Monitoring internal HR compliance programs to support contractual requirements such as background check re-screening and fingerprinting.
Develop processes that improve department and end-user efficiency and enhance overall HR productivity.
Immigration and Mobility Program Management:
Serve as the point of contact for current employees going through various types of immigration process (new visas, change of status, amendment, extensions, business travel, permanent residency). Proactively work with employees, business leaders, members of Human Resources and designated immigration counsel to communicate statuses and timelines.
Serve as the point of contact for Talent Acquisition and Business Leaders as they explore the viability of sponsorship for potential candidates. Manage the assessment process; consult with the stakeholders and candidates as needed in partnership with legal counsel. Explore options for employment sponsorship and communication process and timelines to all key stakeholders.
Serve as subject matter expert for I-9 program and procedures, in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
