Job Description
As a Project Manager, your primary function is to drive and manage projects that contribute to the success of the company. You will be accountable for planning, executing, and overseeing projects that require both business and technology expertise. Your role will involve using sound judgement, effective tools, and exceptional relationship skills to deliver enhanced capabilities to multiple functional areas of production and support functions. Your main responsibility will be to oversee the growth of production capabilities at a new facility in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. This involves creating a plan and ensuring its successful execution for manufacturing systems and sub-assemblies used in robotic assisted surgical equipment. Additionally, you will be tasked with effectively leading and developing resources required to support global growth of Intuitive operations. To succeed in this role, you must have proven experience achieving results through delegating and managing a wide range of team members.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders to accurately document project scope, deliverables, goals, risks, obstacles, success criteria, and estimated resource requirements.
- Ensures projects remain in-scope and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Regularly provide project status updates to all stakeholders at predetermined intervals.
- Maintain open communication with management, project team members, and stakeholders, closely seeking and addressing feedback.
- Develop, manage, and distribute project communication materials such as action plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Foster partnerships with other functional areas to ensure alignment of goals and priorities, including NPI, Planning, Human Resources, Finance, Product Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
- Ensure sufficient capacity is available to meet growing demand for existing and new products.
- Monitor budget compliance and take timely corrective actions to stay on track.
Join with Regulatory and Quality Departments to meet all regulatory compliance requirements in a medical device environment.
Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a scientific field.
- 3+ years of project management experience in industrial companies.
- Proven technical data-backed skills, including Value Stream Mapping, FMEA, statistical methods, and six sigma techniques.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project programs, as well as Smartsheet and other project planning and tracking tools.
- Effective communication skills with executive leadership regarding project status.
Nice to have skills:
- Master's degree in engineering or administration discipline preferred.
- Certification in project management (PMP, CSM, PRINCE2, etc.) is a plus.
- Previous experience in the medical device manufacturing industry is desirable.
- Experience in manufacturing operations transfer is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, influence, and unite across all levels of an organization and in a cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to manage ambiguity effectively and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
